Gabby Rourke is the first female to make the all-male varsity football team at Atlantic Coast High School. A second-string placekicker, she was also was honored as junior homecoming princess Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 .
Rourke, a four sport varsity athlete, is a goalkeeper and defender in girls soccer, wide receiver in girls flag football, middle blocker in girls volleyball and aforementioned placekicker.
Rourke has verbally committed to play women's soccer at the University of Kentucky.
"I kind of was just like, man, I want to be able to do that," she said. "I want to be able to do something that no one else has done before and kind of leave my name in the history books. It was a challenge because you know it's never been done before at Atlantic Coast, and I just wanted to be the first to do it."
